Time commitment

Program length varies based on the individual learning option. On average, undergraduate degree programs typically take 3-4 years to complete, graduate degree programs take 1.5-2 years to complete while certificate programs take 8-12 months to complete.

The University of Memphis Global understands every student does not have the same educational history and can accommodate all educational backgrounds. With alternative pathways for those who do not meet traditional admission guidelines, a University of Memphis Global Advocate will work with you to talk about your best path.

Graduate certificate and degree program admission requirements vary by program; however, all graduate programs require an undergraduate degree.

Academic Prep Academy

Would you like the chance to adjust to college-level online courses before starting your degree program? With the University of Memphis Global Academic Prep Academy, you can learn what it takes to succeed in an online learning environment and earn college credit toward guaranteed admission to your desired degree program.

With Academic Prep Academy, you’ll take three online courses to develop your college-level writing and study skills. Deadlines are flexible and you have unlimited opportunities to pass quizzes and writing assignments.

To begin, register directly on the Academic Prep Academy learning option page. A University of Memphis Prep Facilitator will reach out to support you through this process.

Upon successful completion of Academic Prep Academy, you will be guaranteed undergraduate admission to The University of Memphis Global as an official student with no required entrance exams. You will receive 12 college credit hours for completing Academic Prep Academy (which equals the average number of credit hours for one full semester)!

Not ready for Academic Prep Academy, just yet? The University of Memphis Global also offers College Prep, a single, complimentary course open to anyone interested in learning more about academic preparedness in a university setting. Upon completion of the course, you can choose to enroll at The University of Memphis Global, and admitted students can apply for three credit hours of Experiential Learning Credit (ELC), which is the equivalent of one class.

Finish Line

The nationally acclaimed University of Memphis Finish Line Program is an inventive academic initiative, with the goal of assisting students with 90 or more credit hours who have not completed their college degree. To qualify, students must have earned 90+ credit hours with a minimum GPA of 2.0 and have a stop-out period of at least one semester from any institution. Since 2013, more than 800 students have completed their degree through the Finish Line.

Prior Learning Assessment

Students can earn credit for college-level learning experiences outside of the classroom through credit by exam and/or Experiential Learning Credit. Each year, more than 400 students convert professional development training, licenses or certifications, military training and volunteering to credit, reducing cost and time to completing their degree.

As a student of The University of Memphis Global you’ll receive the same support services as an on-campus student including registration, advising, learning support, technology support, career services, tutoring, and more. Each of these services provide you an opportunity to reach your personal and professional goals in a fully online environment and at times and days convenient for you.

Open Access Courses

The University of Memphis Global’s complementary, online courses are created to allow potential students the opportunity to get familiar with taking classes online while providing relevant and quality educational experiences. Upon completion, these courses can be applied toward your degree to accelerate completion at an affordable rate.
